About Us

With over 30 years’ experience at ZIMP, our main focus lies in sheet metal products manufacturing for the point of sale “POS” and retail industry.

Our services include everything necessary for the production of cash drawers by using high quality sheet metal raw materials by punching, shearing, cutting, pressing, forming, welding as well as the assembly of ready parts. We also have a modern automatic powder coating line to give the products a more personalised look and pronounced feel. The inserts and plastic components are all made in-house using our latest generation plastic injection moulding techniques.

The Cash Drawer

Our models of cash drawer are designed and engineered with the highest quality in mind by the use of the top standard of raw materials with EU origin. We offer different models for a wide variety of customers, from supermarket chains and fuel stations to high-end boutique stores and hotels, but when a customer requires something more individual and bespoke, we will happily oblige. We offer all existing configurations for automatic drawer opening through an electrical solenoid acting on a spring-loaded mechanism specifically suited to each model of POS device as well as any connection method.

The standard drawer comes with a pair of keys which may be used to lock, unlock and open the drawer, as well as an emergency latch, located at the bottom of the drawer, that may be used in case of a malfunction or blockage. The removable insert, albeit different for each model, comes in various configurations and typically accommodates four types of bank notes as well as configurable separations for coins.

Optional extras include a dedicated button, located on the front panel, that can be pushed to open the drawer or the “magic” opening mechanism that opens the drawer when it is gently pushed inwards. Other colours and finish are available upon request.
